Assessing Rural Tourism Experiences: What Can We Learn from the Azores Region?

This research paper focused on tourists’ experiences after engaging in a rural tourism experience, the activities developed during that period, and relevant factors they considered when planning holidays. We collected data Azores, region known to implement tourism. Therefore, were analyzed using mainly summary statistics, graphical representations, exploratory analysis methods, including nonlinear (categorical) principal component (CatPCA). The CatPCA’s objective is same as of (PCA). found landscape, adventure-related activities, local gastronomy some reasons tourists choose Azores destination. living experience population’s welcoming traits mentioned make want return Moreover, offers unique opportunity connect with region’s rich cultural heritage. islands have long history shaped by centuries settlement blending various cultures, resulting distinct Azorean identity.
